Research Interests

Professor Kennedy's technical interests include the broad areas of combustion, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Current research involves the following topics: Low temperature plasma wave enhanced combustion in porous media and excess enthalpy combustion processes (these topics permit the generation of superadiabatic temperatures which can be applied to emission control, gas synthesis, and highly efficient combustion processes); Non-equilibrium plasma processes for emission control and hydrogen generation; Fuel reforming unsteady combustion processes; Combustion synthesis of materials, and Hydrogen metal hydrides processes.
